Method: Cook spinach according to package directions. Drain thoroughly; set aside. In a small saucepan, melt butter; add mushrooms and saute for about 5 minutes. Blend in flour and add milk gradually. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in spinach, spices and 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese. Pour into a 1 1/2 quart buttered casserole. Combine bread crumbs and remaining cheese with a tablespoon of melted butter; sprinkle on top. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 20-25 minutes and your Spinach Mornay will be ready to enjoy. |
